Composing my apology
July 18, 2008
They are unbearable flashbacks. I’m crossing a street with m.a . and three or five friends in the best Saturday night district where we live. It’s Spring 2003. We are talking politics. My views in this dialogue-debate are based on fundamentals that I believed were solid if indeed Machiavellian, Darwinian, nationalistic. I’m working on an apology, here, to America and Iraq. I supported the war in the name of cheap oil for America. The administration rewarded my greed with greed of her own and $140 barrels of oil. Greenback karma stings, and it’s time for America to apologize both to herself and to Iraq. Installment-A 07.17.08

Breakfast on the patio / July
July 15, 2008
Returned from morning run with j.v at 6:30 this morning anticipating m.a would have breakfast ready on the back patio. She did. Ten minutes later we were alone and she was weeding the flower bed on the west side of the patio. The position of the mid-July sun back-lights hundreds or thousands of insects & spider webs across the entire yard to the east. She was pulling an herb or some seasoning from the pot to my side. The smell of the herb lingered in the air around us. The scent of this herb that I can’t name that variously recalls both summertime salads and wintertime soups being cut up on Sunday mornings by m.a registered differently this morning like lilac out of season. This scent this morning mixed with the scent of garden dirt, mulch and m.a. This familiar, warm, scent of nourishment so freely tended to by m.a for me for so many years blended with the scent of my run and of m.a and I was aroused unexpectedly and wanted to give her everything I’m not capable of.

I am passionate about the spiritual journey, classical music (with a violin concerto fetish), world politics, American politics, fitness and unraveling the social chaos of extreme posturing. I have other musical tastes that cut through sections of both rock and dance. Nirvana rocks. So does Dvorak.
Come on! Vonnegut isn’t cynical. Vonnegut so definitively explores the spiritual chaos of personal cynicism that we see through to truth and light.
My comments to a blogger who claimed that Democrats will give us $12/gal gasoline:
Though I take exception to several propositions in this blog, you do make some valid and interesting points. I can’t let this one slide. You say:
“Red Cavaney points out that the speculation that drives up prices only enters into the cost equation when the supplies aren’t meeting the demand. When supplies are abundant, you don’t have people betting that the prices will go up.”
You accurately tap Red Cavaney to explain the conceptual relationship between supply and demand. That conceptual relationship is today being manipulated through fear-mantras originating from either the White House or its supporting lobbies.
Oil supplies are keeping up with demand. Period.
Visible speculators as well as managers of hedge funds and blind trusts today monitor not for indications of supply vulnerability but for queues in the press releases and sound bites from the White House, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Lebanon and Syria … From these many sources they take their queue to buy or sell. If “the” agents of information are peddling fear, the speculators buy. If they are demonstrating calm and hope the speculators sell.
Diamonds and oil are today both in abundant supply. Find anotherscape goat.

Precision Fear-Mantras
July 8, 2008
Republished Monday, July 7th from Holiday Weekend –
Regarding Iran: The President has avoided every opportunity to make peace in the region. Examples are too numerous to list here. Further, he has encouraged and even created civil wars in the region during his tenure. The ensuing chaos and fear have given way to obscene crude-oil profits and control of the US Congress.
He further feeds fear of Iran to his media machines as a tool of influence in primary election results at home and will do the same this fall. These Iran / Iraq fear-mantras hit the commodity pits with symphonic precision.
Quick background update… His control of all (not just a few) Federal agencies encouraged if it did not actually create the housing bubble which has not yet fully unwound. The collapse of his housing bubble necessitated his inflation of the commodities bubble. Yes, the housing bubble follows in the President’s wake as he speeds towards Iran in these final months of power. The two bubbles are related to one another and therefore to Iran.
The least-damning goal of his Iran rhetoric is further inflation of the oil / corn bubbles which are causing unprecedented global inflation, international starvation and widespread corporate collapse. Companies and funds with new oil-wealth will reinvent themselves while picking up the steeply discounted pieces of the many “fallen” corporations as the oil bubble collapses, by the way.
The most damning goal of the President’s Iran rhetoric is WWIII with a taste for the biggest military jackpot in history: British/American ownership of the oil rights that feed the markets that his corporate sponsors have already fully “cornered.” The present President of the United States has brought unbearable disgrace to his office and our country. Wake up America. Take back the White House. Take control of this President.
